Everyone has heard it before but I'll say it again. "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day," it's important to kick start your metabolism with a clean breakfast to give your body the energy it needs for the rest of the day. When you eat within 2 hours of waking up can make a difference in the way you metabolize glucose (blood sugar), all day. Your glucose level rises every time you eat and glucose is used for energy. So what happens when you skip breakfast? The prolonged fasting might lead to a bigger than normal boost of hunger hormones which will encourage you to overeat at your next meal.
I have a list of breakfast options I compiled so there's no excuse not to make a good choice. Oatmeal Provides many nutrients, including carbohydrates, protein and a small number of natural fat. Oatmeal contains oat germ. Oat germ is rich in minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium and zinc. Oat germ also provides many vitamins, including thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate and vitamin E. I eat my oatmeal warm with almond milk and I also like to soak it overnight in almond milk. I also slice one banana in there or add berries and a scope of zero carb protein. Smoothies Here are two smoothie recipes I like to drink in the morning when I am on the go. Green smoothie 1 banana 2 cups of almond milk 1 small slice of pineapple Half of lime juice 1/4 avocado 2 cups of spinach 1 teaspoon of honey 1 cup of ice Liberty special 1 banana 2 cups of almond milk 1 cup of blueberries 1 scoop of protein ( I like to use isopure) 1/2 tablespoons chia seeds 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon coconut oil 1 cup of ice |
